Yarns By Design is an upscale fiber arts boutique located in Oakmont, PA only minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. We provide fine quality yarns, patterns, supplies and instruction to fiber artisans throughout the Southwestern Pennsylvania region - and now we’re taking our message to all points of the globe with a new web site, and soon we’ll be adding online shopping functionality.

Once complete, you’ll have the option of shopping at YBD from the comfort of your own home or from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection! Imagine - soon you’ll be able to share YBD with your friends and family wherever they may be.

We offer a wide variety of supplies and instruction to support almost any project. In addition, we also host an array of instructional classes from serving everyone from a complete novice to an advanced artisan.

We also offer knitting parties for a completely unique instructional experience. If you’d like to share knitting with close friends or family, our instructors will come to you and teach almost any skill you can imagine - no matter what the
