About Us

Our convenient location in Mobile, Alabama provides a fun family friendly atmosphere where you can shop, feel the yarn and fibers and explore your creativity while making long-lasting friendships. We strive to provide a wide range of quality yarns, needlepoint, cross stitch, beads and patterns with pricing for everyone!

Need a break? You can find Knitters, crocheters, needlepointers, and cross stitchers enjoying coffee around our community table at any time of the day. Come get “regrouped.”

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are available and eager to help you find the perfect project with pricing for everyone. We also strive to give back to the community with gifts from the heart. Community groups meet at Wellslee’s to knit and crochet blankets, hats and scarves for charitable organizations every week.

We offer classes and workshops, and support groups designed to meet all of your needlework needs. Our specialty is the “Answer Lady”. We always want to help you with your projects, so we have someone extra in the store to help out during busy hours with a little extra help to get you back on track. We strive to provide you all that you need, but if you can’t find it, please ask. We’re always glad to help!

Our History

Our store began with the desire to highlight and provide a venue for local artisians and needleworker to show and sell their work. More and more customers began asking for the supplies for their own projects so we provided a small section of the store for yarn, fibers and needlearts. The LYS closed, and we expanded our range of needleart supplies. Our location was not very close to Mobile, so we moved into the city by popular request. We now offer a wide range of yarns, needlework supplies and beads. We continue to emphasize our original mission of providing a venue for artisians to show and sell their work -- we are concentrating on the art of fibers and providing needlepoint and cross stitch patterns that are designed by artisans.
