The Surprise Valley is nestled between the high desert of the Great Basin and the snow-covered peaks of the Warner Mountain Wilderness. Desert pastels mingle with the sweet smell of sage. Creeks in the pine forest fill the lakes, providing green pastures for sheep and cattle to graze.

The historic building on Main Street was built in 1874 and was originally the Deep Creek Schoolhouse - it is now the home of Warner Mountain Weavers. As you enter the shop you’ll be surrounded by the lavish textures and colors of sensuous chenilles, cozy woolens, and luscious yarns of every description as well as beautifully finished hats, scarves, wraps, sweaters, jewelry and more.

Deep Creek Yarns feature hand-dyed semisolids as well as variegated hand-painted yarns from a variety of fibers such as cotton, rayon, silk, mohair, wool and alpaca. Some are hand spun.

Warner Mountain Weavers also carries Fleece Artist, Chasing Rainbows, Mountain Colors, Brown Sheep, Classic Elite, Skacel, Plymouth, Cascade and has the largest selection of yarns in Modoc County.

In addition to yarns, you’ll find knitting and crochet supplies, needles and hooks, instructional books, patterns, scissors and everything the knitter or spinner needs. We are also an Ashford Spinning Wheel dealer.
