Welcome!
The Vermont Yarn Company offers some of the best knitting and crocheting supplies available, from yarns and needles to books and kits, and much more. Let your imagination run! We provide yarns from local wool, alpaca, and wonderful blends, not to mention our collection of great yarns from around the world. We can even offer some terrific Vermont yarns in our online shop.
We also host knitting events, classes, and provide extra help on your projects. We have comfy chairs, a lovely view of the Green Mountains, and a wood stove in the winter.
We share a building with the Field Farm and the Foote Street Farmstand so there's always tea, coffee, treats, and somewhere to pause while shopping. You can find us on U.S. Route 7 south of Middlebury: about 1 mile south of the A&W and about a half-mile north of Route 125 (need a map?).
Specials
Addison County has one of the highest rates of breast cancer in Vermont. We're offering a free pattern for a chemotherapy hat, to comfort and cuddle those of us who are fighting cancer. If you bring us your completed hat, we will be sure to deliver it, and will provide you a free skein of yarn in thanks.
Knit, Shop, or Chat
We're open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Drop by often to browse and chat! Knitting help is available Tuesdays through Saturdays (other days by chance or appointment). Our Let's Knit group meets on the last Saturday of every month; everyone is welcome.
