Raven’s Beak Design™ is a fiber arts studio located in Grand Marais, Minnesota.

In my shop you will find original designs you can buy in kit or pattern form and as one-of-a-kind finished products. You will also find yarns, rovings, needles & notions, buttons, patterns, books, magazines, beads and punch needle supplies. I specialize in natural fibers, however on my SALE tables you may find some acrylic blends as well as other items that are “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow” – once these are sold they will not be restocked. Each month I focus on a certain yarn or yarn combination. You can purchase these yarns, which often come with free patterns and always with suggestions for use. This site is currently not set up for sales, you will need to go to e-bay to find sale items which I list monthly.

If you’re the kind of person who likes to make, wear and have things that cannot be found in the usual stores (including yarn shops) I think you’ll like this site. If you like knowing you will have support throughout your creation of a project, this is the place for you. Think of it as the knitting circle that’s available to you 24 hours a day.

I am a designer who loves to teach. If you are a fiber enthusiast looking to develop your skills, check out my Classes & Retreats page. Knitting, crocheting, felting, beading and miniature punchneedle embroidery are a few of the classes you might find. My shop is located in a beautiful part of the United States. Grand Marais is located on Lake Superior in the lap of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Your fiber retreat can include a good infusion of natural beauty: hiking, biking, canoeing and kayaking; skiing, snowshoeing, dogsledding – it is all here for you whether you are a buff and hearty fitness freak or one who likes a more low impact approach to your outdoor fun. Feel part of our community in your 'home away from home' with easy access to the downtown area via bike / walk path. Conveniently located on the near west end of town there are plenty of dining and shopping options within easy walking distance.

More than anything, I hope to provide you with a source of inspiration for your work in fiber and a retreat from the stresses of your everyday life.
