Tally Wren and Laura Lamers opened NorthCoast Knittery on November 1, 2008. The Knittery is a place to buy fabulous yarn imported from all over the world, great books and unbelievable notions.
Tally and Laura opened Northcoast Knittery to provide a unique gathering place for fiber lovers. The store offers free knitting lessons as long as your yarn is purchased from the store.
New Knitters: Come and experience a new way of learning, no set classes, learn on your own schedule and make new friends while you sit at the table. Experienced knitters come and see our beautiful selection of yarn, books and notions; learn to make something new or just join the group and make new friends.
Thursday Nights: We will be open late for knitters who are looking for a new social atmosphere, we will serve complimentary small bites and lovely liquids.
Lessons: NorthCoast Knittery offers free knitting lessons as long as your yarn is purchased at NCK. Beginners can learn how to knit anytime we are open. If you are a more advanced knitter moving on from scarves, lessons are on Wednesday and Thursday during business hours. We provide a free form style of lesson anytime the store is open, this provides flexibility for you to come in and learn on your schedule, as well get help when you are stuck or there is a mistake that requires fixing. If you are a more advanced knitter and are needing a new project see Laura on Wednesday or Thursday. Beginner Knitters can see Laura or Tally anytime we are open.
