The place for all your knitting, crochet, and spinning supplies.
Designer Yarn in Sandy, Oregon, is owned and operated by Sherri Anderson, who has been an avid knitter for over 20 years.
After 20 years of experience in Graphic and Web Design for a global company, with the last years working from Portland for the corporate office in the World Trade Center, September 11, 2001 forced a change in careers. Remembering her manager/friend who died that day, Kathryn Lee, who was a high-powered, extremely hard working, intelligent woman, deeply touched Sherri when she had mentioned opening a yarn store some day. Kathryn smiled in a completely calm and thoroughly happy way and said "I used to have a yarn store. Those were happy days." Because of busy lives the topic never was brought up again. Through many tears, yet encouraged by what her friend had said, the long-time dream for Sherri became a reality.
Sherri was born and raised in Portland, with horses and friends in Sandy. Sherri opened Designer Yarn in the quaint town of Sandy and continued her love of colors, textures, and designs in March,
2004.
