Stroll down to the old dance studio and you’ll find a new quilt fabric and yarn shop called “Color Me Quilts & More”, a life long dream of Diana Liles. Diana has been working with fabric and yarn since the early age of 5 when her mother patiently taught her to sew, knit and crochet. Over the years her children’s clothing designs and crocheted afghans have won several ribbons in the Alameda County Fair. You may have seen some of her children’s designs when she sewed under the name of Dizzy Designs. Diana’s busy schedule includes a girl’s community service youth organization (IORG) where she has been an active advisor for over 15 years. She has also designed and constructed formal wear for the girls and adults in this organization.

Color Me Quilts and More will carry designer quilt fabrics and several types of yarn. Future plans will also include an embroidery machine where designs can be stitched out to your specifications. Diana also holds quilting, knitting and crocheting classes. She hopes to focus on youth classes, since she feels the art of needlework has been lost throughout the generation.

Stop by the shop Wednesday through Sunday and you may see her husband Chuck (co-owner) attempting to cut fabric and knit socks (Diana is still trying to teach him). Shop hours may change depending on demand and let Diana know what types of fabric and yarn you like, our motto is “If we don’t have it, we’ll try to get it”.
