Join the Kimono Club! A group of dedicated and determined knitters have taken up the challenge to make a variety of comfortable, classic and flattering kimonos. While each one is unique, the basic shape remains the same. It requires NO shaping and can be sized to every body and taste. We will help you with your selection and pattern and then you are welcome to join the group.
irst there was Nuclear fusion
Then there was Asian fusion

Just for a while, put down your knitting needles and crochet hooks. You do not need them for this fabulous project. This is a style that looks good on all figure types. Your friends who do not knit can join you in this creative workshop. See the class schedule
This beautiful, classic vest with a twist, is made from Mountain Colors, Mountain Goat yarn. It is hand dyed and comes in a number of glorious color combos. I love the detail of this piece. It is an interesting pattern to knit, without demanding too much attention. The yarn is soft, with just the right amount of drape to flow and not cling to the body.
Whether you're a novice with the needles or a veritable machine, Arizona Knitting and Needlepoint has what you need to knit. This charming, tiny yellow house is literally packed to the rafters with a selection of unusual, high-quality yarn, and the prices are fair. The staffers aren't snooty, and they maintain a helpful attitude even when confronted by rank amateurs. If they don't have a particular size and style of needle, they'll cheerfully order it, and they're happy to offer aesthetic advice on your project. (Here, unlike at some other knitting places in the Valley, you might actually feel inclined to take it.) Call first, because the shop closes for a few weeks in the summer.
Packed to overflowing with cool yarns and fibercraft implements, this Old Town Scottsdale staple is to local knitting stores what Durant's is to Phoenix restaurants. In terms of yarn selection, you won't find a more extensive array of commercial and hand-spun fibers. And while that's a definite plus, the thing that keeps yarn fanatics going back to AZ Knitting is the wealth of knowledge that dwells within this stitchin' grotto. You'd be hard-pressed to stump owner Rebecca with a project question, and if she's occupied (she has a legion of fans — in fact, she refuses to give out her last name, because she'll get calls at home from eager knitters), her staff is among the friendliest and most helpful of any Phoenix business, graciously imparting "purls" of wisdom upon the masses.
Like a favorite sweater, we can't resist this cozy, comfortable Scottsdale shop for all of our hand-knit needs. Sure, all knit shops have yarn, needles, and resources for various types of projects. But unravel these common threads and you'll find Arizona Knitting's true talents: customer service and knowledge woven into an environment that stresses community and comfort. Staffed by needle-wielding pros, and packed to the rafters with display pieces, this shop guarantees that you will find the perfect yarn for the perfect project. Weave in an abundant selection of commercial, imported, and handmade yarns, beautiful needles in every shape and size, and an up-to-date, complete book and pattern selection, and you've got an easy winner. Year after year, like a pattern repeat, Arizona Knitting and Needlepoint casts off any doubts that there is a finer knit shop in town.
