Inspired by a dream and the realization not to wait, Yellow Dog Knitting opened in 2003. Spring-boarded by a library book, Dixie Grilley taught herself to knit, started a knitting group and finally took the plunge and followed the bliss of doing a job that made her happy. This enthusiasm shows in her and our staff's eagerness to help anyone complete their dream project.
The small and welcoming shop's walls are lined with yarns of every shade and fiber possible, needles and notions, as well as completed items to inspire you.
Our friendly staff remembers names, faces and projects and is always willing to give advice or assist with pattern questions. If you're not sure what color works, what project to tackle next or just what the pattern is asking you to do, we're happy to help.
Lessons from beginning to advanced techniques are taught by our knowledgable staff and local artisans.
In the past we've hosted trunk shows and knitwear designer's visits and will continue to do so. From the newest trend to the most beautiful traditional work, we're excited to bring it all to you.
