The name Woolgirl came about in a knitting Blog called We Heart Yarn, which was created a few years ago with four of my dearest knitting friends. I needed a name to represent myself on the Blog, and therefore, Woolgirl was born!

As my obsession with knitting has grown over the last few years, as well as my love for hand dyed fibers, I knew that knitting was much more than a hobby to me - I needed more! I was sleeping, eating and breathing knitting, and I loved every minute of it! I started dreaming of one day opening my own yarn shop, and finally decided that I needed to put that plan into action if it was ever going to be more than just a "plan". Thus, the Woolgirl website was born!

Woolgirl encompasses everything that I am and everything that knitting as an art means to me. I will always be a girl at heart who is in love with wool. Plain and simple!

I must mention here also that my mother-in-law, Jean Kreiter, was the brilliant designer of the logo. She's a wonderful artist and designer, and one of the most creative people I know, and she created Woolgirl exactly as I envisioned her to be. I can't thank her enough!

So, that's how Woolgirl was born. I have a strong love for hand dyed-yarns and so you will tend to see quite a lot of hand dyed-yarns on my site. I am also passionate about supporting the Indie dyer, so these yarns will also be prevalent on my site. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to see a particular yarn or know of an up and coming dyer that I should know about. I am always looking for new yarns and products, so would love to hear from you and always welcome your suggestions!

Thank you for your support and I hope to see you back often!
