"A Shop with a Conscience Specializing in Natural Fibers"

About Us
How it came to be…

Sharon Mooney and Becky Curran met in the fall of 2005. It didn’t take long for them to realize they had a shared vision of what a yarn shop should be—a place where knitters could come and sit. knit. be. Both had the desire to specialize in natural fibers and to promote companies that operated under socially conscious business practices including co-ops from around the world. They formed their partnership in June of 2006 and 4 months later opened for business.

Sharon is an expert knitter and knitwear designer. She has been knitting for over 40 years. She owns her own pattern company, “Knitting Knoodle,” and has designed for several knitting companies and books. She has worked in knitting shops for many years and has also been a watercolor artist and taught art at two local private schools. Sharon spins her own yarn when time allows. Sharon has been married for over 30 years to her husband, Al, has one daughter, and a son-in-law, and two adorable grandchildren.

After several years working as an elementary school teacher and a massage therapist, Becky has finally found her niche! She has been knitting for 1/2 her life and also designs knitting patterns for several knitting companies. She also loves to spin, weave and “paint with fiber” using needle felting techniques. Due to her teaching background, she loves to teach these handcrafts to beginners. She’s married to Ron, who is co-owner and auctioneer of their other business, Redlands Antique Auction. They will be celebrating their 12th anniversary this September.

How can we help you?
We have an open door policy, here at The Yarn Deli. Feel free to stop by any time to sit. knit. be.

Need help? We are glad to give you a hand any time that we are open. We don’t charge for help and if you want to learn to knit, drop in any time and we’ll get you started—the lesson is free, as long as you don’t mind us helping customers in between.

If you prefer a private lesson, one on one, we charge $10.00 per hour.
