The Lion Brand Yarn Studio
Opened in November 2008, the Lion Brand Yarn Studio is a unique retail concept store located in New York City. It is the first and only retail location of the Lion Brand Yarn Company. At the Studio, you can test-drive selected yarns at our sampling wall, enjoy free demonstrations at the learning bar, and select from a broad range of classes. The Studio is also the only retail location to sell the LB Collection, our exclusive line of affordable luxury fibers. Our goal is to provide a space of education and innovation. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff provides assistance during every step of your project, from yarn selection to technical assistance. Be inspired by featured fiber artists, special events, and workshops in a space designed with many recycled and renewable materials. We invite you to our home: a place of fiber, friends, and fun.
Lion Brand Yarn Company
Lion Brand is a family-owned and operated business and a beloved American brand since 1878. As the fifth generation of Blumenthals joins the business, it is a true passion for yarn, shared by all our associates, that is the secret to Lion Brand's success. Year after year we drive innovation in the yarn business and pursue excellence in the quality of our products. The history of hand-knitting in America can be written by the yarns we have introduced:

1. Lion Brand's wool yarn was the first yarn to receive the coveted Wool Mark for excellence;
2. Jamie Baby yarn was the first non-commodity baby yarn that offered the first free pattern and color image on the label;
3. Jiffy was the first non 4-ply fashion yarn for the mass market;
4. Homespun began the trend for novelty yarns in the mass market and is still a favorite American made yarn after more than 10 years.
5. Fun Fur ignited a craze and helped bring knitting back into popularity for a younger consumer.
6. Vanna's Choice is the first celebrity licensed yarn with a portion of the proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

You can count on the fact that the next breakthrough in yarns will come from Lion Brand! Lion Brand is renowned for its pattern support, which is a source of inspiration for yarn lovers. We offer patterns to the public through magazines, branded books with major publishers, as well as our website, which offers over 2,000 patterns. Our publishing partnerships have included both magazine and book publishers. We were involved in launching Knit.1 with Soho Publishing -- the first knitting magazine to target the 20 to 35-year-old audience. We also partner with Potter Books, Leisure Arts, Random House, and Soho Publishing to produce books that are distributed to bookstores around the country, as well as craft shops and other key yarn retailers. The Lion Brand website, LionBrand.com , is the most visited site on the Internet of those that feature yarn. Over 1 million weekly e-newsletter subscribers receive up-to-date information about new products, information about knit, crochet and craft techniques and special offers, as well as knitting stories, e-cards, and a popular comic called Lola. In addition to the Studio, Lion Brand yarns are available throughout the United States in craft chains, discount chains and internationally in 19 countries. You may also purchase our yarns directly from our website, LionBrand.com.
