Thanks for visiting our web site. We want to make your experience fun and informative. Common Threads was started by Caryl and Nancy Nelson, a Mother- Daughter team, who had the same goal of getting all the creative people they knew under one roof to teach their craft to others.

The store started out as a retail/learning center for the fiberarts. We set up shop in Solana Beach, California, a town located in the beach area of North San Diego County. The concept behind the store is to create one spot for a wide array of inspiration and creativity.

Our belief is that knitters have something to contribute to weavers, as weavers have something to contribute to quilters and so on. The name "Common Threads", to us, also refers to the common threads of creativity that runs through all of us. Our goal is to offer products and training in many of the time honored fiberart mediums, to people who otherwise might not have the opportunity to have these skills passed down to them from family members.

The Internet is just one more way for us to reach out to many of you who might find yourself living in an area devoid of such creative energy as we have here in Southern California. We want to be your resource for products and hopefully not too far in the future we can provide you with video service directly over the web, in order for you to view classes in the comfort of your own home.

If you think you might enjoy a trip to Sunny San Diego some time in the future, please let us know. We can suggest some local hotels to check out to make your stay relaxing and easy to access Common Threads and other famous attractions of San Diego.

Some of you might be under too much stress from work and you have been thinking that getting back to working with your hands might be just the trick to get your life back into balance. E-mail us with your needs and wants. We want to get better at filling your needs, and serving you.

Once again, thank you for visiting, we hope you return soon. Oh--Please tell a friend.
