The Acorn Street Shop is a great place for those who love hand knitting and the hand knit mystique. Yarn, yarn, yarn! We have a great supply of yarns including wools, cottons, silks, linens and more. Whether you crochet, knit, needlepoint or just love needlework, the Acorn Street Shop is a great place for you. We have a good selection of books for knitting, crochet and needlepoint. We also have a fine selection of gifts perfect for those who knit, crochet and love hand work.

If you have always wanted to knit or needlepoint, or just want improve your knitting and needlework skills (and you can get to Seattle, Washington) try our classes. We have great teachers and a variety of levels to inspire everyone.

We recently added handspinning supplies and classes. Spinning with handspindles predates the spinning wheel and is still practiced by many cultures in the world. The famous Orenburg shawls and Navajo rugs are both made from yarn spun by handspindles.

Acorn Street Shop was established in 1979 and began as a New England country store in nearby University Village Shopping Center. Soon the needlework department took over and Acorn Street became a full-fledged needlework shop. The shop has been under the current ownership since 1986. In 1992, the business moved to its present location, just outside University Village, and the needlework merchandise has expanded to fill the old building up to its 15 foot ceilings!
